GOSPEL CONVERSATION TRACKER
We believe the bold proclamation of the Gospel still has power to save
(Romans 1:16). We believe a necessary part of fulfilling the great commission
is sharing the gospel (Matthew 24:14).
We believe the primary way God saves is through the sharing and responding
to the gospel message (Romans 10:9-13). Over the next 10 years we want to
be obedient to engage in 344,869 Bold Gospel Conversations.
Where did this number come from? 344,869 is the population of every person
in Milton, Alpharetta, Canton, Cumming, Roswell, and Sandy Springs. These
are the primary cities that make up our Church.
What Is The Gospel?
Jesus declared in Mark 1:15
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
“Gospel” translates the Old Testament Hebrew verb bisser and the noun besorah.
The Greek New Testament equivalent is euangelion, which is a compound word. Eu means good, and angelion means announcement.
All of these words mean “good news,” but what kind of news?
“The gospel is the good news that the good God of all creation sent His Son, Jesus, to become the hope of humanity by dying on the cross and resurrecting from the dead, solving the great problem of sin and separation for all who put their faith in Jesus and surrender to Him as King.”
Jesus’ Good News demands a decision.
His Good News offers an invitation to follow the one true King and to live in His Kingdom.
The Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15 declares that the Gospel is of first importance.
“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.” 1 Corinthians 15:1-7
THE SIMPLE GOSPEL
THE SIMPLE GOSPEL
The 4 Simple Points of The Gospel:
1. THERE IS A GOD, AND HE IS GOOD
“For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:5
God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.
Genesis 1:31
God has always been good and has wanted good for us.
We were created to be in a relationship with Him.
Relationship is what God wants with each of us.
2. THERE IS A PROBLEM; WE HAVE SINNED
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
WHAT IS SIN? Anything you think, say or do that breaks God’s commands.
According to scripture, everyone is guilty of sin, and the punishment/payment for sin is death and separation from God. Because of our sin, we are unable to experience the life God created us for.
3. THERE IS HOPE; HIS NAME IS JESUS
God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
Because of God’s love for us, He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross and pay the price we owed God because of our sin.
He stepped in and took our place. Jesus is the only way our sin can be forgiven.
Jesus is the only way we can be in a relationship with God and experience life and life to the fullest.
4. THERE IS A RESPONSE; THE SURRENDER OF MY LIFE
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
Jesus has freely offered us salvation.
It’s an act of grace. You cannot earn it or work for it; it’s a gift.
By faith we receive salvation, and we cannot help but respond to this salvation by surrendering all we have to Him.
ARE YOU READY TO FOLLOW JESUS?
John 3:16 (the most famous verse in the Bible) says that “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Do you want to follow Jesus today?
Romans 10:9 declares “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”
Through faith in Jesus Christ, God’s power can change you. You don’t have to live a life of brokenness and bondage, you don’t have to be hopeless. Jesus can set you free. Jesus can give you hope.
